FreeScreenRec exists because most screen recorders capture pixels but lose the point — the click, the cursor, the exact spot you meant to highlight.
Why we built this
Anyone who has recorded a tutorial knows the problem: you narrate a click, but on playback the cursor is a tiny arrow lost in a sea of pixels. Viewers pause, rewind, and squint. That gap between what you meant to show and what viewers actually see is where FreeScreenRec started.
Instead of treating highlights as an editing step, we built them into the recorder itself. Click-ripples and shape annotations happen live, while you record, so there’s no separate editing pass just to make a recording legible.
What we believe
- Screen recording software shouldn’t hide its best features behind a paywall.
- A watermark on your own recording defeats the point of “free.”
- Clarity matters more than polish — a viewer who can follow along is worth more than a fancy transition.
